Using a Date and corresponding weekday to pull amounts

Hello,

I’m back again and in need of some assistance. I don’t know if this is possible but I’m trying to create a formula that will use a date to pull my average for that particular weekday (Monday, Tuesday,…or Friday). This is very hard to explain so I will use the scenario below.

A1 07/22/2013

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
2132 1539 1317 1712 393
Newest Number 1506 1552 1163 1417 212
1642 1261 1148 1366 190
Oldest Number 1704 1223 1160 1462 258

Total 4852 4036 2308 4245 660

Daily Average 1746 1393.75 1157 1489.25 263.25

The formula will determine if the date 07/22/2013 is a Monday, Tuesday etc and return the corresponding Daily Average number. In this example, 07/22/2013 is a Monday so my result should be 1746. When I change the date to 07/26/2013 which is a Friday, then the formula should give me 263.25.

I hope this explains what I’m looking for. I apologize in advance for any typos or grammatical errors.

Thank you.

the headers of your table are in A2:F2, the daily average in row 10
Then try:
=INDEX(10:10,MATCH(TEXT(A1,"dddd"),A2:F2,0))
