Sorting problem. My header rom is getting sorted with the rest.

First of all, I'm using Excell 2007. I'm using it as a database, listing contacts info and other criteria for a volunteer group. I've always sorted my sheet by selecting a header cell, like Last Name, and selecting the A-Z sort, expanding the selcetion to include the whole sheet. Everything below that first row gets sorted. For some reason tonight on one sheet it isn't woking that way. When I sort, that header row gets sorted also and ends up somwhere farther down the sheet. I don't know why, or how to fix this. Please help.

After you click on the SORT icon look around the dialog box for a check box next to "My data has headers". If unchecked, click the box.

I'm have Excel 2010 but I am guessing the same feature exist in 2007.

Check that all of your columns have values in the header row. I've found in the past that if there's one header missing then Excel sorts the header row into the contents.

Sad thing is, sometimes even when you put the missing header value in it continues to happen.
