Hello,
I used to be able to do a search in excel by hitting control F. Now it doesn't
seem to be working. I tested and found the things that I was searching were
contained in the worksheet but didn't come up when I hit control F or when I
did
a search via the menu button.

Check Options in the Ctrl-F dialog. You may have "match case" or
"match entire cell contents" checked.
