preserve "-" when importing text field from access
I am trying to import part numbers from an access table. The field is of
type text and the format is nn-nnnn , when I export this into excel, excel does a calculation on that field instead of leaving the format of the part number. How do I import this data into excel so it leaves the format instead of doing the calculation? |
You need to do two things:
1. When running the import wizard, select "text" as the format of data that looks lik "n-nnnn" 2. Format the cells receiving the data as text as well -- Gary''s Student "rfctkl" wrote: I am trying to import part numbers from an access table.
