Disabling protected cell selection
I've had a search around on the forums for posts to help me but can't find anything! I'm using Excel 2000 and I want to know.. is it possible to not allow protected/locked cells to be selected with the mouse or arrow keys? I think you can with Excel 2003. On that note.. if a spreadsheet is created in 2000 and viewed by someone in a later version, will it be completely compatible? Or vice versa; if I was able to use the function I mentioned above in a 2003 version then viewed in 2000, would it work the same? After you 'lock' the cells, you need to Protect the worksheet. During the Protection process, you can choose to not allow the user to select Locked cells.
