Default Need help with automating functions

I Posted this question yesterday and got one reply but it didnt completely
help due to me not completely explaining myself or maybe not putting enough
info here. I hope this repost will help with getting a better answer.

I have 24 worksheets in 1 workbook for 24 months. We use it as our duty log
for each month. I am trying to figure a way to calculate Total times for the
previous 60/90/180 days from the current Day. Currently I have the cells
figuring the preceding 3/6 months or 12 months from the prior sheets cells.

COL A Col B-Z have other data including Flight Time, Day / Night NVG ect
Day
1 <--- Row 9
2
3
4
5
6
....31 <---- Row 39

Row 40 Has Sums of Times from above rows where it applies for the month
Row 44 has Quarterly Totals and Row 46 has Annual Totals

The days are just listed in Col 1 . The month is listed in Row H4 in a Pull
down list. Should I change those to Dates/Days using the Day Function?

I know this is alot to ask for and might be confusing but again when it
comes to the advanced functions I am a rookie.

Now with all that said. If it would be easier for someone to help by seeing
the actual file. Please email me at

brianbranch at sbcglobal.net

and i would be happy to send it to you. I am sure if you could see the file
you might even have other suggestions for me on how to automate alot more of
the functions I have.

Your workbook is very well-organized to summarize data in a monthly fashion.
Its organization, as you have noticed, makes it difficult to simply look back
in time a given number of days (spanning multiple sheets of old data).

Fortunately, you can have your cake & eat it.

How about if we add a 25th sheet, a single sheet capturing the data from the
24 monthly sheets. Copy rows 9-39 from sheet1 to row 1 of the new sheet.
This is not painful since you can block the rows and do a single copy/paste.
Repeat this for the next month (sheet2). The second sheet data would end up
starting in row 32 of the new sheet. Continue. Remember:

1. Dont copy the empty row(s) for short months (like April)
2. Dont copy any of your summary rows (rows past 39)

As time passes, add your daily data to both the monthly sheet and the 25th
sheet. You are now in a position to simply highlight the cells in any column
starting from todays data (the last row) back 30 or 60 or 90 days. The sum
will appear in the little summarization field at the very bottom of the Excel
window.
