when i down load my visa statement from the internet how can i add the numbers.
when i use the =sum to add it i only get 0
The numbers are in the right colum, but will not add up.

Hi i tried the clean up special paste & reformat cells but it still doesnt
add. any other suggestions

try to find out what are the extraneous items in the cell
for that you need pearsons addin
cellview (you can get it in google searach)

there may be nonprinting items in the cell
TRIm function will remove only leading and final spaces and not other items.
in vba TRIMALL function(Davsid Mcritche) will be useful

when data is downloaded into excel from a webpage it is always a pain
