Is there a way to split a cell horizontally in Excel?

I want to split a cell so I can write 2 lines in one column for each entry.
This will be a handwritten form.

Tom Ogilvy

why not put a heavy boarder around two adjacent cells in the same column.
Then adjust the row height to achieve the effect you want.

Otherwise, a different interpretation

at the end of the first line hit Alt+Enter and continue to type.

format the cell for to wrap text under format =Cells=Alignment tabg.
