worksheet email address to outlook xpress contact

On an excel worksheet I have numerous email addresses. Is it possible to put
them as a group in Outexpress without having to do them individually

First make a backup of you current Outlook Express email addresses,
Windows Address Book (*.WAB) file(s) so you have something to
come back to.

Within OE --- file, export address book, Text File (Comma Separated Values)
include all the fields that you have in your spreadsheet, and export

You will want to make you workbook have the same headings, in the same
order (so you are sure it is you have it right). and didn't miss anything.
To help you rearrange columns so you can see that everything is in order
see http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/fillhand.htm#mouse

Move a Column(s) and insert between columns without losing data,
Select a column, hold the SHIFT key, and grab the side of the column below
the column headers (A,B,C) and drag it left or right to move, you wail see a
single line following the cursor, drop it between existing columns.

You will want to add one more column to your Excel file, you can give it
at title in row 1 and copy anything all the way down from row 2. This is
to make sure that Excel will generate all the commas in the csv file as
OE drops the last comma if there is not a comma next. Be sure to browse
your file to make sure you have a comma at the end of each row.

Then export you workbook from Excel to a CSV file,
and then import into OE (file, import).

You have your backup of your WAB files in case you messed up and
can simply start over again..

See conversion of AOL addressbook in
Office 2000, my experience in installing - Progress report

BTW if you are converting from a specific ISP there would be migration
tools available.

I also have some pages on Outlook Express, starting at
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/ie/oe6.htm
with references to additional pages of mine, and to pages
of MVPs that specialize in OE.
