Lookup??

Hello

i am trying to look up one set of data to put on another spreadsheet.

i need the formula to agree two cells (eg A21 & D1) before puting the looked
up data in. I have tried using VLookup but it only will let me select the
one lookup value.
=VLOOKUP(A21,Details!A:C,3,FALSE) & =VLOOKUP(D1,Details!B:C,3,FALSE)

i have also looked at using sum product but as the information i want to
fill in is data it just gives me a error message

thank you in advance for your help

Dave R.

If I understand, you can use an array formula (don't press ENTER alone, but
CONTROL-SHIFT-ENTER at once) like this:

=INDEX(I17:I19,MATCH(1,(G17:G19="dog")*(H17:H19="c at"),0))

I17:I19 is the value you want returned if G17:G19 = "dog" AND column H for
that row = "cat".
