Another couple of simpler, shorter examples, perhaps?

For an example set-up of a 2 variable data table which reads both row and
column inputs to output what-if results, try: http://tinyurl.com/d9gfv

For an example set-up of a one variable data table,

And you could also type: data tables
in Excel's help for more info

Note that although the TABLE function (e.g.: {=TABLE(,A1)} ) looks very much
like an array formula, it cannot just be entered as such. The construct of
the data table must be done / invoked via the Data Table menu / steps
outlined in the examples
