Duplicated data
Hi all
I have a large worksheet with Company names entered into Column A, however, the names are duplicated and the same one can appear up to 20 times. Is there a quick way I can ask Excel to search the column for me and leave just one instance of each name, rather than having to delete the duplicates manually? Thank you. Louise |
Look at <Data<Filter <advanced Filter
another way use a helper column enter in B1 =Countif($A$1:$A1,A1) copy down to the bottom of your data. Sort columns A and B by Column B Delete all of the Column A and B Cells where B is greater than 1 "Louise" wrote: Hi all I have a large worksheet with Company names entered into Column A, however, the names are duplicated and the same one can appear up to 20 times. Thank you both for your help. The Advanced Filter solution worked perfectly.
