Lookup Issues / List Auto-Adjust
Okay...I have a file with 2 data sheets, prior day PD and two days ago 2D. Each is a downloaded file containing portfolio holdings for multiple accounts, along with values. I'm trying to create a summary page for each portfolio, and calculate the return. Each portfolio has about 70 stocks. Column A is stock name and B is account name. I want to use the account name as my reference to pull in data. How do I make a lookup formula when the value I'm looking up repeats itself? Then, I need to make sure the list of securities for PD and 2D are the same, even if there is a trade (i.e. for a buy on PD I would need to shift down the dataset of 2D by one row). I'd like to put mismatched securities at the end of the list. I'm lost as to how to attempt that. Any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. P.S. Data in the file for PD and 2D is identical. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: Daily_Fixed_Returns_EF.zip | |Download: http://www.excelforum.com/attachment.php?postid=3522 | +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- Phillycheese5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phillycheese5's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=24196 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=381024 |
