How do I hide rows in excell 2003, and see the + sign to open?

I have a worksheet that shows on the left hand side of the screen shows
little plus and minus signs in boxes, the hide and unhide certain rows. Can
someone explain how I go about setting those in a new worksheet? Thank You.

You can get those outlining symbols in a couple of ways.

You could subtotal the range (data|subtotal)

or you could do it manually (Data|Group)

Good evening S L Johnson

Sure thing. The facility you are looking for is the "Group" tool.
Select the cell which you want to group and go to Data Group and
Outline Group. As you are using XL 2003 you will get a dialog box to
confirm whether you want to group columns or rows. Make your selection
and click OK. Done!
