Unix Time Function

Is there a function that can convert 4/21/2005 10:43 to unix time like
1116910800?

See a couple of answers in .misc

PLEASE don't post the same message to multiple groups. It tends to
fragment any answers you get, and potentially wastes the time of those
providing solutions that others have provided.
