Default sort a list/remove additional entries

Okay, I have a coumn with like 10,000 lines. They have maybe 70 different names in them. I need to find out what all names od categories are in there. Without having to search line by line. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,

Hi!

Use an advanced filter to copy the unique values to a different location.

Click on an item in the column, then Data Filter AutoFilter.......then
click on the arrow at the top of the column......the drop-down box will have
one entry for each unique item on the list.........to get out of the
AutoFilter mode, just do Data Filter AutoFilter again, it's a toggle......

Glow

You can use FilterAdvanced Filter to obtain a list of uniques in the column.

See Debra Dalgleish's site for info with pictures.

http://www.contextures.on.ca/xladvfilter01.html

Note: you can copy the list to another sheet or range.
