Excel trace dependents functions broken

Trace dependents / precedents stopped working in large-ish model (15MB).
However it works in other bigger models, so unlikely size-related. In
addition, the model stopped recomputing values (and it is not set to
"manual"). Any suggestions?
Excel 2003 I think.
