Default Conditionally Formatting a Range

I want to use a variable cell (let's say cell H1) to format a range (let's
say A1:c10).
Example: If cell H1 = "block" then shade cells A1:C10 red.

Default Conditionally Formatting a Range

Range A1:C10, go to HOME tab, then click Conditional Formatting (in Excel
2007), then Manage Rules, New Rules, finally "Use a formula to determine
which cells to format"
