My excel 2003 does not have engineering functions.

I tried to use an engineering function and got #name error. InsertFunction
does not show engineering in the category list. How do I get them?

Which function are you trying to use? Are you sure that it's not a User
Defined Function from some add-in?

My excel 2003 does not have engineering functions.

Analysis Toolpak must be loaded to get engineering functions.

Have you done that?

ToolsAdd-ins

The engineering functions will be in Statistical Analysis category when you
click on the insert function icon.
