Hi-
I have a field that contains email addresses. I would like to strip the
address down to just the domain:

= gmail
= comcast
= aol

So essentially I want to capture anything after the "@", up to the "."

I'd appreciate your suggestions!

Copy the column to another column--just in case:

Select the column
Edit|Replace
what: *@
with: (leave blank)
replace all

(and once more)
edit|Replace
what: .*
with: (leave blank)
replace all

=MID(A1,SEARCH("@",A1)+1,SEARCH(".",A1,SEARCH("@", A1))-SEARCH("@",A1)-1)

To return everything after the "@", and up to the FIRST "." :

=LEFT(MID(A1,FIND("@",A1)+1,99),FIND(".",MID(A1,FI ND("@",A1)+1,99))-1)
