I have a column of 32 numbers,
 
some negative, some positive. They are paired. I have 16 pair. I
neeId help with a formula that will give me the
difference between the two numbers.

-11 I need a total of 15

2 I need a total of 12. Thanks in advance
for any assistance.

Assuming your data starts in A1, put this in B2:

=IF(MOD(ROW(A1),2)=0,"",ABS(A2-A1))

and copy down as far as required.
