How do I enter values from a drop down list without using the mouse? I want
to enter a letter or number that corresponds to the first letter or number of
a cell in the validated drop down list, then select that entry without
clicking the mouse.

How do you intend to select the drop down box?

Data Validation dropdown box?

Autocomplete is not possible.

Using arrow keys to select the DV dropdown then hit Alt + Downarrow.

Using downarrow scroll to your choice and Enter to select.

To have Autocomplete you must use a combobox alone or in conjunction with
the DV dropdown.

See Debra Dalgleish's site for how-to.
