VLOOKUP displays formula rather than result Excel 2007
 

I entered a VLOOKUP function in a cell using the function wizard. In the
wizard window, the correct result is displayed but when I hit enter the
formula is entered in the cell but displays the formula rather than the
result. Auto calculate is on. Is there something else I need to do in Excel
2007 to get the result to display?

It sounds like the cell is formatted as TEXT.

Change the cell format to General, then double click in the cell then hit
Enter.

The cell is probably formatted as text. Simply format the cell as 'General',
return to the cell, and press [Enter] and it should then show the formula
results.
