unique occurences in list

Hi
I have a long list of hotel names in column A. Some of the hotel names
occur more than once in the list, so the 500 item list only contains the
names of about 180 different hotels. Is there a function I can use that will
list in column B just the 180 different names,i.e. reduce the list in column
A to just the unique occurences?

Very grateful for any advice.

Have you tried using Pivot tables?
You can put the hotel name in the row area, and then have a count of the
hotel name in the data area. This will give you a list of hotel names, and
the number of times it occurs in the list.

Use the advanced filter and copy unique records.
