drag down
i have a cell formatted as Text
if i enter a number and use the little lower right box to drag down, it adds one to each cell. so if i enter 01 and drag down it enters 02,03,04 in the next three cells. Can i stop this...i just want to see 01,01,01, thanks in advance for any advice, tami |

Interestingly it behaves if you try the other way
Enter 1; Format cell as Text and then try dragging.. If you are looking at filling the same value then try this. thanks much. I have a lot of inexperienced users that i need to train on
this when they are populating this worksheet so i needed something easy. so as you suggested i entered in 01 then prior to dragging down i hold my control key then drag and it worked!...i should be albe to train them to do that prior to dragging but in addition is there a way to turn off/disable the "incrementing" of 1 when dragging? In cases like this I right-click and drag.
