Data validation - critical
 

Hi,

I am creating a list using data validation in a particular cell. I am facing
following problems and i request anyone of you to help me on this.

1) How can protect the list in the particular cell. If i copy the data from
other cell (where there is no validation) and paste in the validation cell
then the list will be removed
2) Sometimes if i enter free text in the list it accepts not throwing error.

Requesting you to guide me to fix this issue.

Data validation is not at all foolproof. Refer the below link on data

Me thinks....

If you uncheck Show Error Alert, you can "type" in non list entries.
If you "copy paste" non list entries it delets the data validation for the
cell.
