Is there a character paste limit per cell?

I get information (text) sent to me in an excel workbook from a coworker that
I have to copy and paste into another excel file to create a database for use
with pivot tables, etc.
But when I paste info into new workbook, not all the information is there.
I've been double clicking each incomplete cell, copying and then double
clicking the cell in new worksheet and pasting. There's got to be a better
way. Can anyone help me?

You're getting the information as an excel file?

If yes, make sure you open both the sending and receiving file in the same
instance of excel.

Dave... you are a life-saver.
I've been opening 2 different instances of excel and working that way for
more than a year. Thank you so much for the great advice.
