hi everyone,

can someone please help me:
L18 is a sub-total amount, i.e £100, and i would like to subtract 25% and
leave the total in L20,

so basically could someone please tell me the formula for: £100 - 25% = £

If you subtract 25% then your're left with 75% of the original amount, so...

=L18*0.75

=A1-(A1*25%)
OR
=A1*75%

I think you need to understand more about basic maths before using
spreadsheets. Your local council (like most councils) is currently
advertising courses for this sort of education, which can be free for
some people. Ask at your local council offices, ask for "Further
Education" or "Adult Education".
