file path displays incorrectly
 

hi can anyone help me? when I add a footer with the automatic file path and
name, instead of showing the character \ my footer displays a crossed-out W
instead. This happens if I manually type it in the footer too, but not in
the actual worksheet - I'm stuck!! Thanks so much for any suggestions - this
is driving me potty today, never come across it before!
