Formula updates with SAVE AS
I have 2 spreadsheets. Spreadsheet A has a formula that points to a cell in
Spreadsheet B. If I have both spreadsheets open then do a File Save As in Spreadsheet B and save it as a CSV file then the formula in Spreadsheet A now references the newly created CSV file rather than the previous Spreadsheet B. I wasn't sure if the formula updates with the new file name by design or if there is a way to prevent this other than ensuring Spreadhseet A isn't open when I do the save as CSV on Spreadsheet B. |
Formula updates with SAVE AS
Jen,
That is by design. You can either not have A open when doing the saving, or save it prior to the CSV saving, and then close it without saving afterwards, and the changed links will be discarded.
