Default OFFSET Function

Hello,

I am linking the data from one sheet in my workbook to another, and
previously the way it was set up was to use the offset function. So, the
data in sheet A was linked to sheet B by using an offset formula in sheet B.

However, the data in sheet A isn't in a complex table or anything.
Why would you choose to use the offset function? What's the advantage of
using the offset function over just linking the sheets together with the
equals sign?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Default OFFSET Function

Hi,

If you know the cell link to, you can very well use the = sign and link
normally. However, if you wish to pick data from a certain cell (the
position of which in turn depends upon some condition), then you will have
to use the offset function. For e.g., I want to pick data from a cell on
sheet 1 which is 5 rows below the cell where "Total" is typed
