Sumifs function
 
I've entered the formula, it appears correct, and the correct result is
displayed in the function argument box, however only the formula displays in
the cell. What does this mean?

What does this mean?

It usually means the cell is formatted as TEXT.

Change the cell format to GENERAL. Then hit function key F2 then hit ENTER.

2 possibilities:

1) Cell is formatted as test. Check cell formatting, changing to something
appropriate, then try re-entering formula. (select cell, press F2, and then
Enter to confirm)

2) Formula display mode is enabled. Try pressing Ctrl+`
