and secs

or alternatively simply convert a number into minutes and secs - ie 2.82 =
3m22sec ??

What is the range of numbers you have?

A1 = 2.82

=TIME(0,INT(A1),MOD(A1,1)*100)

Format as m:ss returns 3:22

That won't work on anything greater than or equal to 60 minutes. For
example, 60.0 or 59.65.
