Turn of 'Read Only'
We have a spreadsheet that was created in 2003 and has been saved now as 2007
(*.xlsx). In 2003, we were able to request the spreadsheet to be opened as 'Read Only' by opening the Tools - Options - Security tab and clicking on 'Read Only recommended'. Now that we are using 2007, we need to turn this off... I have looked everywhere for this option, but can't find it. It's NOT the same as Review - Protect Document, because we've turned everything there off and it still asks to open as 'Read Only'. HELP!!! We've (my associate and I) have spent 2 days looking for it. I've been all thru the Community as well as Help files in Excel but can't find this specific issue. -- Thanks! Barb |
Turn of 'Read Only'
Barb,
With the file open, select Button Save As Excel Workbook (*.xlsx) In the "Save As" dialoge box click on the [Tools] button (lower left corner). Select "General Optons" and clear the checkbox for "Read-only recommended". Click OK then save the file. Let us know if this doesn't work. Best wishes, Dave "Barb" wrote in message ...
