Using tab key in protected worksheet

I have a worksheet that I am allowing users to edit only certain cells. In
the protected mode, the tab key won't work, only the arrows and enter key.
Any ideas what I need to get this function back? Thank you.

You have some cells that are unlocked and you want to Tab to those cells?

I don't know why your Tab key will not do that.

Have you tried a different keyboard?

Yes I have tried different workstations. The tab key works if the worksheet
is changed back to unprotected but not in the protected mode.

In sheet protection did you check the "select unlocked cells" under "allow
user to:"

I'm out of ideas.............Tab key has always worked for me on a protected
sheet.
