Default math

I have to convert 1 4/5 into minutes. I know 1=60 min. I'm not to good at
math and can't figure out 4/5 into minutes.

If 5/5 is one hour then 1/5 must be 12 minutes thus 4/5 must be 48 minutes

with 1 4/5 in A1:

=A1*60

Returns 108

I might add that assume you have 1 4/5 in A1 then you can use

A1/24 to get excel time format (format as [hh]:mm) will return 01:48

let Excel do the calculation
enter into A1
=(1+4/5)*60
