Changing $ format to a written format

Is there a formula that will take a dollar figure such as $15,231.23 in one
cell and have the written value of that cell to another? If the dollar
amount is in a1, can the result be fifteen thousand two hundred thirty one
dollars and 23/100 cents be in a2?

Hi Julia,

Check out this VBA code. Copy it via the right click on the sheettab
insert the code.

http://www.ozgrid.com/VBA/ValueToWords.htm

Then use the =SpellNumber(A1) function whereas A1 is the cell
reference.

Good Luck,
Tom
