Convert european foreign date format to US date format
 

I receive dates in the following format in column:

dd.mm.yyyy

I would like to convert the column to read mm/dd/yyy.

Any thoughts?

If they're really dates with that custom format, you could just change the
format of those cells.

But if the values in the cells are text, you can select the column
Data|Text to columns
Fixed width
Remove any line that excel guessed and don't add any of your won
choose Date (dmy order)
And finish up the wizard.

Then format that column to show the date the way you like.
