How do I link 2 spreadsheets to insert amounts on a defined date?
 

I have a spreadsheet which shows a dollar amount paid out everyday for a two
week period for multiple people. I have a different spreadsheet which shows
changes made to those people. I know how to connect the two spreadsheet to
change the amount paid per day; however, sometimes the change happens in the
middle of the two week period. I was wondering if there was a way to have
the amount change on the correct date? For example, in spreadsheet 1 Bob
gets paid $14.24 per day. In spreadsheet 2 I change Bob's job code which
changes his rate per day to $17.59. The pay period is 4/13-4/26 and the
change happened on 4/23. If I just link the amounts to change then it would
change in the whole pay period not just 4/23-4/26.
