Sorry if I'm not understanding your question correctly, but I think a
COUNT function should do this. =COUNT(A2:A4) will tell you that the
table above has 3 rooms.

I'm guessing that you want to count *unique* room numbers.

=SUMPRODUCT(--(FREQUENCY(A2:A10,A2:A10)0))

Result = 2
