Updating embedded links in Excel
 

Hello there,
i was wondering if anyone had to deal with this scenario earlier and how did
they go about resolving it.

We have our Finance department that had about 800 or so Excel files. There
are links in these files to other Excel files. The links are of the format
S:\Department\Budget\2009.xls. There is a new project happening in the
company to change the folder structure of the drive that houses all these
files. This would entail that the link be changed to
S:\Finance\Department\Budget\2009.xls. Considering the number of files
involved as well as the possibility that there might be quite a few links in
each file, is there a way to achieve the change in a automatic/programatic
fashion rather than a manual one in which every file and every link has to be
updated manually.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
