Hi,

Maybe you have an AutoCorrect option that is replacing your entry?

You don't see it in the Formula Bar or the spreadsheet, correct? You do see
it as you type, but it disappears when you press enter?

Sometimes keyboard letters get sticky and when you type them nothing happens.

i'd check my auto-correct & see if there's an entry for BVE.
if the column wasn't wide enough you'd see ******* or just BV......
for the middle letter to be missing is very strange.

Bve is one of the entries in autocorrect ... corrected word is be.... b and v
keys are together...

Can you tell me how to type BVE without removing the auto-correct entry? In
other words how to prevent Excel from auto-correcting for certain instances
of BVE?

Control-Z will do it, but you probably only get a chance to do that it you
type a space after BVE.

Hi,

I have never seen *****? If a column isn't wide enough you would see #####
and that is generally only if the cell contains numeric entries.

What version of Excel are you using? What is the full entry that you are
typing in the cell? Is this a formula?
