Working with worksheet protection

Hi,

I am setting up a excel template and am using the worksheet protection
function. I have specified "unlocked" cells. Is there a way to allow users
to insert a Comment for an unlocked cell?

I noticed that when I activate the protection, the insert comment
functionality is grayed out.

Appreciate any tips on this.

Many thanks.

In xl2002 and later, you can allow the user to edit objects:

(xl2003 menus)
Tools|Protection|protect sheet|Check Edit Objects

In xl2k and earlier, there's 3 options under that
tools|protection|protect sheet
One of them concerns objects (Edit Objects????)

(I'm not sure where this dialog is in xl2007)

In any case, allowing the user to work with objects means all objects--not just
comments.
