"Cannot shift objects off sheet" in Excel when inserting row/col?

CANNOT INSERT ROWS OR COLUMNS IN WORKSHEET AS ERROR MESSAGE READS "CANNOT
SHIFT OBJECTS OFF SHEET" HOWEVER CAN MOVE EXISTING DATA AND CREATE EMPTY
ROWS/COLUMNS.

Writing in ALL CAPITALS is considered SHOUTING on the internet and is bad
style.

This means that there is something in your spreadsheet that would be pushed
off the spreadsheet if you inserted the desired rows or columns. Suppose
there was a text box in column IV and you tried to insert a column between B
and C. You would get the error message because the text box can't be shifted
any further to the right in 2003. Find and remove or move the object. Press
F5, Special, Objects, OK and then press Tab as many times as necessary to
locate the problem item.
