Pivot table error

I use Ecel 2003 and I am working with a pivot table summarizing a query of
external data. I'm able to refresh the query and the pivot table, but I am
unable to click down to the lowest level of detail in my pivot table. When I
try to do so, I get an error stating "The Pivot Table Report is not valid".
Can anyone help me?
