Changing values by a %

Hi,
I have a worksheet with thousands of prices that need amending by a certain
percentage.

Is there a way of amending all cells in such a way, without creating
seperate fields for the answers ?

So basically it may read as £10 and I need to knock off 40% to change it to
£6, but the sheets are pricelists that are all in a pretty layout that I
dont want to change.

Thanks

Jon

In a blank cell somewhere you should enter 0.6 (if you want to reduce
by 40%). Select that cell again and click on <copy. Then you should
select the cells that you want to change and click on Edit | Paste
Special | Values (check) | Multiply (check) | OK then <Esc.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jon

In an unused cell enter .6 (1-40%) and copy the cell.

Select the price cells and goto Paste Special Operation: Multiply OK

Hopes it helps
