Grouping columns - error message
I am trying to group columns (months) and then hide using - & expand using +.
However, when I try and hide columns excel returns the error message "cannot shift objects off sheet". It also returns the error message if I just try and hide columns. Can anyone explain what this message means and if there is a way around the problem? I cannot see anything in help. |

I think you have data in the last column on the worksheet IV and shifting the
data. To group the columns Select one column. Then hold down the CNTL key and press the additional column one at a time with the mouse. Grouping columns - error message
Joel,
Thank you for the suggestion. I have found that answer now. The problem was that beyond the inputted data all columns on the page were hidded (so that people did nnot shoot to the end of the page). These hidden columns have to be visable for the grouping to work. Thanks again. JRT "Joel" wrote: I think you have data in the last column on the worksheet IV and shifting the data.
