Say I want enter a formulae to find a word in range, and when I copy the
formulae to another range size is different. Please help |
Select a variable range
Hi,
If you copy the formula to another cell the range will vary unless you use the $ signal in front of the Letters or row numbers i.e. $B$4:$B$10 always will refer to the range B4 to B10 if you copy this formula will stay as it "Bluecat" wrote: Say I want enter a formulae to find a word in range, and when I copy the formulae to another range size is different. But my range is not fixed eg B4 to B10, sometimes B4 to B7

Hi Bluecat,
I was trying to make sense of what you sent because when you paste the information it comes with all the columns mixed up however why you don't have your initial odometer counter in one column and the final in the other in that way you will be able to substract both column arriving to the total desired if that is not possible please send the example as follow so I can identify the columns A B c DATE JOUNEY ODOMETER "Bluecat" wrote: Hi Eduardo Here is sample of my spreadsheet Time Location Reason for Journey Odometer Daily Total Date Journey (To be stated precisely) Reading Distance Distance Claimed Commenced/ Commencement Travelled After deducting Ended From To -Ending distance from Base 26 10:11 AM Base 47336 Chawan S/S Decom Switchboard 38 04:10 PM Base 47412 38 76 27* 10:11 AM Base 47435 Labrador II S/S Meeting w/BCW 15 Tampines Wafer S/S Load firmware -Tapcon 260 28 06:11 PM Home 47490 12 55 What I want to compute is end odometer reading @F7 & F12 Thanks "Eduardo" wrote: Hi, Please give me an example of what you want to achieve, "Bluecat" wrote: But my range is not fixed eg B4 to B10, sometimes B4 to B7 "Eduardo" wrote: Hi, If you copy the formula to another cell the range will vary unless you use the $ signal in front of the Letters or row numbers i.e. $B$4:$B$10 always will refer to the range B4 to B10 if you copy this formula will stay as it "Bluecat" wrote: Say I want enter a formulae to find a word in range, and when I copy the formulae to another range size is different.
