Date format in Excel 2007 mm/dd/yy not appearing correctly
Cannot find a way to format date in a cell. I've selected Custom and
mm/dd/yy. In office 2003 Excel I could type in Jan5 and it would appear as 01/05/09, the 2007 version will not convert, Jan5 comes up as 01/01/05. I've tried to change numerous times in every option I can find and nothing works. Is this a VIsta problem? |

When I enter Jan5 in XL2007, it gives me Jan 5, 2009.
I'd check your custom format. Maybe you entered mm/mm/dd instead of mm/dd/yy Regards, Fred. "RickGCR" wrote in message ... Cannot find a way to format date in a cell. Hi,
I have to second Fred's results, no problem on my machine. since you don't need a custom format click the quick launch button at the bottom right of the Number group pick the Number tab and Date. Pick the 4th or 5th choice on the right side. (Make sure that the Locale setting is English (United States) -- If this helps, please click the Yes button Cheers, Shane Devenshire "RickGCR" wrote: Cannot find a way to format date in a cell.
