How to Lock sort on a data entry sheet.

I use a worksheet €śOrder Entry€ť to enter new sales order information (a row
for each order). Data is entered in columns A-F. This is a source worksheet
that is linked to a destination sheet in several other workbooks used for
pricing and commissions. Data is entered in the Pricing / Commission sheets
in columns G-L. I want to be able to lock down or protect the Order Entry
source sheet so that it can not be sorted or filtered as this will then mix
up the information on the linked sheets.

Basically allow data entry but nothing else on the Order Entry sheet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

try using the worksheet protection.
Select all cells that allow data entry
Right click and select Format Cells
go to Protection tab
uncheck Lock cells OK
Go to Tools Protection
select Protect Sheet apply your password if you want.
This allow data entry input on cells and the Sort / Filter is grey out

Does this do what you want?
